Looking for example policies and procedures?
Here at Voscur we are often asked “can you give us a template or example of the policy we are looking for?”. We’re happy to help but there are issues with just downloading a template then signing it off as yours, so we would rather support you to understand the background and come up with what your organisation specifically needs. This will be most useful to you in the long run as you’ll find it much easier to use, and modify, your policies as you develop your work.
You’ll find links to excellent policy templates that are regularly updated, along with the necessary context, in our “Basics” resources.
- Safeguarding – the basics
- Health and Safety – the basics
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion – the basics
- Date Protection (GDPR) – the basics
We also have examples of the following;
- Complaints policies and procedures
- Basic model financial policies and procedures
- Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
- Template Memorandum of Understanding
Other Voscur resources that provide links to good examples are;
- Retaining Volunteers includes volunteer expenses policy
- Recruiting Volunteers includes volunteering policy, volunteer agreement
- Employment checklist includes policies, contract and HR examples
We are also making some of our own Voscur policies available for you to take a look at and download. As with any templates, make sure they meet your needs before you adopt them. As an infrastructure organisation we are quite different from many other groups so you will need to edit.
- Sickness
- Information-sharing and confidentiality
- Health and safety
- Harassment, sexual harassment and bullying
- Grievance
- Disciplinary
- Capability
If what you need isn’t available on our website try these other options that we can recommend;
- Reach out to another, similar organisation to see if they have what you need and will share.
- If you are part of a national network check out their website for good examples – sports governing associations are particularly good for this.
- Googling – but be careful not to accept any AI generated examples and to only look at templates for charities and voluntary organisations that are the right size and doing similar things to you.
- NCVO – the National Council for Voluntary Organisations
