Pathfinder partnership

What it is

The Pathfinder partnership started in 2021, funded by NHS England.

It is a VCSE sector initiative that aims to improve therapeutic provision and to engage with communities that tend to fall through the cracks, through a co-produced system change model, for adults living across the Avon and Somerset Constabulary area who have been raped or sexually assaulted at any time in their lives.

Who is part of it?

The partnership is made up of multiple organisations, with SARSAS as the lead provider, working alongside Kinergy, The Southmead Project, Womankind and The Bridge Foundation.

The Impact

These partners have been working together to create more accessible therapeutic provision, but also shorter waiting times for service users, and to provide the partner organisations’ qualified professionals with ongoing professional development for dealing with complex cases (Serious Post-Traumatic Syndrome Disorder).

The creation of this partnership has allowed for open communication among the partners, working together to best utilise funding through the partnership to increase the provision of therapeutic sessions.

As a direct result of the Pathfinder project, £500K of recurring funding was secured until 2029 to expand Active Recovery into Somerset (run by Southmead in Bristol), to continue Health Inequalities work (refugees and deaf women run by Womankind)
