Volunteering Opportunities at Voscur

We sometimes are able to take on new volunteers – the tasks and roles required are dependent on what external and internal projects we are delivering at any given point in time. 

As a result of the quick turnaround of projects and nature of our work, we don’t often advertise for new volunteering opportunities, instead we encourage anyone interested in volunteering with us to get in touch and let us know:

• What type of volunteer work you are interested in (eg. admin, communications, helping with events, data entry/analysis, research, or anything else!)
• What you might like to gain from volunteering with us, so we can work out if we are able to give you the volunteering experience you are looking for.
• What current skills or experience you could bring into any role (previous experience or existing skills are not always needed, but some roles might need them so we’d be interested to hear about anything you feel is relevant)

As part of our volunteer agreement with you we will:

• Provide a clear role description – outlining your role with us, key tasks, how it benefits and fits within the organisation, and what skills are involved.
• Offer training to help you succeed in your role.
• Provide a named responsible staff member, who will support you in your role and offer support and supervision sessions to ensure that you are enjoying your role and confident within it.
• Reimburse agreed out-of-pocket expenses.
• Take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure your health, safety, and welfare while you conduct work for us.
• Ensure that you are treated fairly in line with our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
• Encourage a positive and supportive volunteering experience.
• Provide opportunities for you to tell us how the volunteering role is going, and respect and listen to your feedback.
