UWE Bristol Equity, Bristol SU BME Network and MANDEM have teamed up to bring you an important event surrounding mental health.

In the UK rates of depression, anxiety and suicide are on the rise. One in four adults are diagnosed with a mental health issue each year and a record number of children are calling Childline with suicidal thoughts. On top of this, suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45.

BBC Children in Need has partnered with the Wellcome Trust to form Curiosity. This joint funding programme aims to use the power of exciting science activities to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people experiencing disadvantage in the UK. 

We want to fund organisations who are excited to learn about the difference science can make and can help us learn too.

You can apply for two levels of award:

Join us for an afternoon event and help us explore how better use of data can improve the quality of lives of the residents and guests in our city.

We will consider how data and information could be used to help with local priorities and how we can best support the development of a fair and inclusive local economy and culture.

Provider Forum Event - Brandon Trust and Supt Andy Bennett will talk about new initiatives in tackling under-reporting of disability hate crime and how they can support providers of servcies for disabled people.

Brandon will show how they use drama to engage people in training and how this could help your organisations.

There will also be performances, tasty refreshments, discussions and networking opportunities.

Making Change Happen is The Forum’s new peer-support project run by and for Disabled people in Bristol.

The groups are open to anyone who identifies as Disabled or has a long-term health condition, and considers themselves to be on a low income.

We are holding some drop-ins in January 2019 so that you can:

- Find out more about the project

- Meet people and share your ideas

- Have your say on the issues that matter to you
