Grants of up to £2,400 are available to support the needs of vulnerable children and young people who have experienced a recent crisis or change in life that has had a significant impact on their wellbeing and their education.

Grants are available to registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, and in exceptional circumstances Community Interest Companies working to support ex-offenders, young offenders, or young people at risk of offending.

Registered charities (including Schools that are registered as charities for young people with disabilities) that work with disadvantaged children under the age of 25 can apply for funding of up to £10,000 through the Ironmongers Company's grants programme.

Not for profit youth organisations supporting disadvantaged young people (aged 14 – 25) can apply for grants of up to £150,000 spread over three years to assist young people who face complex transitions to adulthood. The purpose of the fund is to aid youth organisations to sustain or expand their work. The Foundation provides core funding to organisations that aim for sustainability, growth, and impact. The funding is being made available through the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Youth Fund.  There are no deadlines, and applications can be submitted at any time.

BBC Children in Need will for the first time directly fund charities’ core costs over the next three years as part of its new strategy and in response to the economic climate. Children in Need will offer grants through three streams including one for core organisational and development costs and another aimed at its traditional project-based funding, both of which will open in October this year. It will also launch a funding stream for smaller, emerging organisations who may need greater support to access funding in spring 2023.

Playing out sessions are temporary road closures to let children play safely and freely in their street. Through traffic is diverted and neighbours supervise resident car access at walking speed. 

Parents are fully responsible for their own children as normal.

One-off, short-term grants are available for small charities, non-profits and schools to fund day trips for disabled or disadvantaged children aged under 13.

This year, The Henry Smith Charity has opened its Holiday Grants programme with more flexibility than ever before, in light of COVID-19 and its impact on already disadvantaged people. The funding is designed for day trips rather than residential stays, because of the uncertainty around holidays and travel during the pandemic.

The Triangle Trust has funding available for organisations that primarily work with young carers (aged up to 25 years old), to help increase the impact of their work. This funding is designed to help organisations already serving young carers, rather than new projects set up to support them.
