A variety of community organisations provide transport services to help people travel throughout the West of England. Services include community minibuses, volunteer car schemes taking people to medical appointments, wheels to work schemes and regular scheduled transport.

Many people and organisations working with children and young people are interested in the new Targeted Youth Services (formerly Bristol Youth Links). The award of the new contracts is due to happen in the next week or so.

In anticipation, we have organised a short briefing event (22nd March, 1-3pm) for the New Targeted Youth Services. This event will include:

We will be hosting a Workshop for Providers to contribute to the Sexual Violence Pathways needs assessment of Avon and Somerset.

9.45am - Teas and Coffees available on arrival.
10am -1pm Workshop

This will be an opportunity to identify any strengths, weaknesses, gaps, barriers to access or structural issues in the sexual violence pathways, bringing to the discussion the experience you have as a practitioner in your field.

You are invited to come and hear from Councillor Helen Godwin, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, who will present on the pledge to children and young people in Bristol. This will also be an opportunity to help shape this important work.

Wikkis: multimedia approaches to self advocacy for disabled children and young people: how they work, how can short breaks and other service/ advocacy  providers get involved?

The Volunteer Organisers' Forum is used to promote and share best practice for those managing or co-ordinating volunteers.  We currently meet quarterly to discuss a variety of issues relevant to volunteering such as volunteer recruitment, employability, DBS checks, volunteer retention, thank you events, welfare reform impacts, volunteers and the law amongst others.
