A variety of community organisations provide transport services to help people travel throughout the West of England. Services include community minibuses, volunteer car schemes taking people to medical appointments, wheels to work schemes and regular scheduled transport.

The new West of England Combined Authority and Mayor Tim Bowles have new responsibility for transport across the sub-region and this now includes Community Transport. Voscur (Bristol’s support and development agency for the Voluntary and Community Sector) and WERN (West of England Rural Network) are working together to coordinate a new network of VCSE organisations that provide a broad range of transport services.

Representatives of community transport organisations from Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset are invited to a meeting to explore the potential for a new network.

Note. This initial event is for people from VCS organisations that provide transport services; the network may expand to other stakeholders, depending on the discussions at the first meeting.
