Senior Sambistas

We are a small group of dancers, singers and percussionists. We believe in the power of music and song to lift the spirits and in the undoubted physical and social benefits of dance.
To this end we take live percussion instruments, including Samba and African drums into care homes and day centres, sheltered housing. Working with older peoples groups, people with learning diffficulties and people with Alzheimers Disease.
Sessions last an hour and consist of : drumming performance, dance performance; dance and singing workshops.
We encourage participation at all levels and facilitate the sharing and teaching of songs by participants. So much the better if they take over the session, which has happened in the past!
