Mend The Gap

Mend the Gap (MtG) was registered in England and Wales as charity No. 1143419 on 17 August 2011 and as company limited by guarantee No. 06655366 on 24 July 2008. MtG was established by members of the East African Diaspora in England.
MtG’s mission is to help individuals and their communities to mend the gap between cultures, religions, generations and people of different wealth for the benefit of current and future generations. We will achieve this by making links and creating bridges between these different groups, communities and individuals. We implement projects both in the UK and in Eastern Africa.
Our core activities and charitable objects are to:
1. Prevent and relief poverty both in the UK and Overseas by implementing a
variety of projects to eradicate poverty, relief the suffering of vulnerable communities facing financial hardship or excluded from opportunities including the goods and services necessary to lead a decent life in modern society, and initiate or strengthen financial independence.
2. Advance education both in the UK and overseas by implementing a variety of
projects to advance education through structured educational projects and processes of educational merit that include mass-awareness activities and programmes, exchange visits, face-to-face training and visits and the use of interactive information technology and the provision of facilities that will enable learning and the advancement of knowledge.
3. Undertake such other charitable purposes for the public benefit as are
exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales as the trustees may from time to time determine.
