Bristol City Council has set up the Youth Sector Support Fund to support Bristol-based organisations working with local children and young people, aged 8-19 years. This grants programme will support community-based activities that are preventative and focussed on children and young people who may be at risk of adverse outcomes. This can be preventative and early intervention work that addresses:

•    Risky behaviour – e.g. anti-social, crime and being at risk of criminal exploitation
•    Mental health
•    Low aspirations

Writing successful funding bids isn’t about being good at spelling, it’s about being good at telling a clear and compelling story. There are lots of simple ways you can help this happen, and get organised to deal with bidwriting stress! This workshop is for anyone who is new to writing funding bids, or who would like an update or refresher for skills they haven’t used in a while.

We’ll concentrate on looking at smaller, less complex bids. The workshop will cover;

Grants ranging from £90,000 to £300,000 are available to build the capacity of cultural organisations that use art to create positive social change, particularly amongst historically underfunded communities across the UK. The Paul Hamlyn Foundation - Arts Fund provides core funding to arts organisations over three years, to increase their sustainability and to deepen the impact of their work. The Foundation will fund up to 50% of an organisation’s annual turnover. Priority will be given to applications which are anti-racist and intersectional in their approach.

Grants of up to £75,000 are available to small local charities in England and Wales that provide specialist services. The grants are designed to support the development and growth of charities that understand the issues people face and are best placed to make a real difference in people's lives. The funding is available through the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales’s Specialist Grants Programme.

The European Youth Foundation (EYF) has launched a special call to support young people from Ukraine affected by the war. Non-governmental youth organisations in the UK and other Council of Europe member states can apply for grants of up to €15,000 to cover the costs of pilot activities. These must be designed for, support and involve young people, and could include peer to peer learning and support, training, workshops, information and counselling, youth workers and youth leaders, and meetings of young people from Ukraine.

Grants of up to £6,000 are available to registered charities working to improve the wellbeing, welfare and education of children and adults in communities throughout the UK. The funding, made available by the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation, will support initiatives that benefit communities by reducing poverty and homelessness, improving access to education, and enhancing the well-being of the elderly. This includes combating isolation, managing Dementia and Alzheimer's, and providing later life/palliative care.

Sport England have now changed their Small Grant and Active Together programmes consolidating them into one application process. This launch is accompanied by the Movement Hub which should make it easier to find existing tools and resources to support applications to the fund.
