A message from Voscur: Bristol's response to COVID-19

Coronavirus information
23 March, 2020

Like other cities, Bristol is experiencing an incredibly fast rise in the number of grass-roots groups emerging in response to the pandemic and its consequences. We’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone in all communities across Bristol for this amazing response.

We would encourage anyone thinking of volunteering to visit Can Do Bristol to register your interest so that established groups can find you. If you are already part of a new community group brought together via Mutual Aid, Facebook, NextDoor or another platform, please download and read our guide to safe volunteering and see our related resources, covering topics such as data protection and supporting vulnerable people, which you need to be aware of.

Please also record details of your group here, so we can keep track of all the groups in the city and link them to appropriate resources or organisations.

Like you, the Team at Voscur is working flat out to support and help co-ordinate Bristol’s response to COVID-19. As part of this, we’re hosting weekly 1 hour Zoom meetings Community Anchors/Community Hubs so that information can be shared with partners in Bristol City Council and other partners such as Quartet Community Foundation. If you are a Community Anchor or Community Hub organisation and would like to join the meetings, please contact lucie@voscur.org.

We are also hosting weekly Zoom meetings to bring all the local and regional infrastructure support groups together so that we can share plans and information will help us continue to help you.

Whether it’s volunteering, safeguarding, food distribution, funding or community transport, we’re here for you.

You can contact us by phone on 0117 909 9949 or email to info@voscur.org.

Stay safe, keep well.

Best wishes,

Sandra Meadows, Chief Executive of Voscur
Lin Whitfield, Chair of Trustees
