Funding is available from This Girl Can, thanks to National Lottery grants, for projects that help remove barriers to exercise for women aged 16+, such as the cost of childcare or a lack of local opportunities.

VCSE organisations, including charities voluntary clubs, community groups and Community Interest Companies, can apply for up to £10,000 (occasionally larger sums are granted).

The proposed activities can be wide-ranging, but the emphasis is getting active - this could be a dance class, a yoga session or a walking group. The aim is to have a positive impact on as many local women as possible, and encourage them to get active and stay active once the funding ends.

At this stage, you are encouraged to submit your idea via an online form. If successful, you will be asked to submit a full application.

Ideas can be submitted online until Tuesday 25 February 2020. You will be contacted within eight weeks of the closing date if your idea submission has been successful.
