Bristol City Council is consulting on the future commissioning of ‘help when people need it’ services.

The council is looking to procure these services for two main groups; those aged 18-64 and those aged 55+, as well as other citizens who live in the community and are not supported by the working age adults provision.

It is now seeking your views on its draft commissioning plan; the consultation runs until 1 May 2019.

A number of events will be taking place in support of the consultation:

Bristol City Hall, Room 1P09, College Green, BS1 5TR Bristol, United Kingdom

Thursday, 25 April 2019 from 14:30 to 15:30 (BST)

Bristol Community Links North, Lanercost Road, BS10 6HZ Avon, United Kingdom

Monday, 29 April 2019 from 10:30 to 11:30 (BST)

The Park Centre, Daventry Road, BS4 1DQ Bristol, United Kingdom

Tuesday, 30 April 2019 from 10:30 to 11:30 (BST)

These services are short term support that people can access quickly to help them get back on their feet after a difficulty. The help that they get is intended to help people stay independent where they live and prevent them from needing longer term care and/or support. It might be help with accessing health care, maximise their finances, budget successfully or to access their community.

At the moment, Bristol City Council spends £6.1 million each year buying these services.
