South Gloucestershire Race Equality Network is a community organisation that supports ethnically diverse people living, working and studying within the South Gloucestershire area. Since its creation in 2012, our mission has been to improve the connectivity of diverse communities and ensure diverse voices are heard across key areas of local decision-making, prioritising: education, health, criminal justice, employment, housing and environment.

We are looking for Trustees who:

- Have Valuable Skills: We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in finance, governance, and community engagement.

- Bring Lived Experience: Your insights and experiences can help shape our approach and make our work more relevant and impactful.

- Are Passionate About Race Equality: A genuine interest in advancing race equality and social justice is essential.

- Are Ready to Take Action: We need proactive individuals who are willing to commit their time and energy to drive positive change.

What you will do:

- Provide strategic direction and oversight.

- Help manage resources effectively.

- Advocate for race equality within South Gloucestershire.

- Work collaboratively with a diverse team to organise and plan informative meetings, and/or cultural celebrations based all over South Gloucestershire.

- Community Projects: Engage in exciting community projects that drive change and make a tangible difference in South Gloucestershire. 

Commitment: Trustees are expected to attend regular board meetings (minimum three Board meetings annually) and contribute to our strategic objectives. Your commitment will ensure that we continue to be a powerful advocate for race equality.
