Life Recovery helps people recovering from the causes and impact of addiction and unwell mental health by teaching life skills, creating a space for mutual support, and for those that wish, nurturing people’s spirituality and faith.

The Life Course is one aspect of Life Recovery and looks at topics such as self-care, healthy relationships, sleep, stress, budgeting etc.

Outcomes for people who have completed the course have included maintenance of a tenancy, increased confidence and ability to start and maintain a healthy social network, reduction of isolating behaviours, and a clear plan of next steps.

The Chaplain Volunteer role is part of this support, and exists to ensure that there are opportunities for prayer, worship, spiritual growth and journeying with Christ for people who come to Life Recovery.

This volunteering is for weekly or fortnightly Thursday afternoons at Life Recovery Centre in the Old Market area of Bristol.

We ask volunteers to be prepared to commit to a minimum of six months volunteering.
