Hours: 17.5 hours per week (part-time)

Salary: £30,000 per annum (£15,000 pro-rata)

The Organisation

The Diocese of Bristol is the administrative area of the Church of England that covers Bristol and Swindon. There are more than 200 churches in the Diocese, led by hundreds of clergy, and around 15,000 children and young people attend our 72 church schools. 

You will be joining the Diocese at an exciting time within the Diocese as we are collaboratively shape a new vision and set of priorities for the coming years in a process called Transforming Church.Together. We want to understand what we do well, what we can change for the better and how to create a positive way forward together.

The Role

We are looking for someone with direct lived experience, or experience of supporting others living with mental health challenges. You will work with churches across Bristol Diocese to increase their confidence and skills in supporting and welcoming those living with mental health challenges. You will be building on work that has started to identify what services could be offered, and delivering training, including Mental Health First Aid courses.  

To succeed in this role you will:

  • have experience of delivering training
  • be able to work independently and collaborate well with others
  • have experience of working with churches, or in the wider voluntary sector
  • be able to motivate others

You will work as part of a small team which focusses on inclusion, and will receive regular support, other benefits include:
