Priority Communities Trainer

Salary: £35,000pa (pro-rated for part-time working).

The role is full-time (35 hours per week), but substantial part-time will be considered.

Duration: This is a three year fixed term contract.

Location: North Bristol, with regular travel across the diocese

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping local churches grow new disciples and leaders from urban and estate parishes across the Bristol Diocese.  The successful candidate will draw upon their own experience in urban ministry to encourage and inspire unlikely and overlooked potential leaders (including young leaders).

Working as part of the Priority Communities team and with Jesus Shaped People, this training role will be centrally employed by the Diocese but will involve regular travel to work with parish churches and to deliver training.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, have an entrepreneurial spirit with a drive for initiative and creativity, be an enthusiastic advocate for intergenerational ministry and have a heart for the local church and particularly areas of social deprivation.

This three year fixed term position is part of the wider Diocese of Bristol ‘Transforming Church. Together’ vision and strategy, which is supported by ‘Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment Board’ funding.

Genuine Occupational Requirement: This post is subject to an occupational requirement that the postholder be a practising Christian under part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010

For an informal conversation about the role please Rev Dr Andy Murray via our website.

 Closing date: 11:59pm 5th August 2024
