Details of Role: 

I am a Disabled Woman in my 50's living in Central Bristol. I am looking for a highly competent and experienced individual to support and advocate for me in navigating some significant housing and health issues. Also to advocate and support with all other day to day life and household admin as arises.

The ideal candidate will possess a highly professional and organised approach drawing on extensive experience and skills to find creative solutions informed by up to date working knowledge and policy awareness in housing, health, disability, and welfare, to provide advocacy and practical support and achieve desired outcomes. 

Pro-active, dynamic and resourceful whilst also remaining methodical, patient and calm. Excellent communication skills across the board will enable you to liaise competently and effectively with all relevant organisations, agencies, departments + individuals in both statutory and private sectors acting confidently on my behalf as a link person and advocate.

A good understanding of multi-agency partnership structures, service providers and local authority / government departments and organisations will facilitate effectiveness in relevant areas of advocacy stated.

  • Troubleshooting + creative problem solving

  • Feedback, liaison + clear documentation
  • All correspondences
  • A good standard of IT + admin skills are also necessary.

A demonstrable background working with disability and long term health issues is essential. I have a fluctuative and variable capability due to my health and disability which has a significant limiting impact on my cognitive as well as physical health. I am looking for somebody with the awareness and experience to work sensitively and pragmatically around this, encouraging me to pace and manage my resources whilst also ensuring all projects and tasks are seen through to completion and "taking the reins" when I am too unwell to advocate on my behalf. You will apply continuity and consistent application to ensure projects are seen through from start to finish with desirable and positive outcomes.

Personal Attributes

In addition to a high level of professional skills and experience I am looking for someone who is down to earth, personable, considerate, kind, compassionate, conscientious, genuine, honest, positive, tenacious, consistent, reliable, and with a good sense of humour and plenty of common sense.

Additional Requirements

Driver: Good, safe, experienced driver with own car and clean driving license.

(Whilst most of the role is from my home in Central Bristol/own home for some correspondences, I may also need you to accompany me to some necessary appointments and there may be at times necessary relevant errands also).

Flexibility/Adaptability
Due to the nature of the role some flexibility/adaptability is required. However, all negotiating done with upmost consideration and respect.
