The Volunteer Organisers' Forum is used to promote and share best practice for those managing or coordinating volunteers.  We meet quarterly to discuss a variety of issues relevant to volunteering such as volunteer recruitment, employability, DBS checks, volunteer retention, thank you events, welfare reform impacts, volunteers and the law amongst others.  Featuring speakers and mini workshops, this forum is also a great opportunity to network.

Arkbound is holding a launch event on 10th and 11th June to celebrate the launch of Boundless magazine.

As publisher, Arkbound is a Bristol social enterprise that is committed to supporting disadvantaged people and the community. We sponsor talented disadvantaged authors, do ethical coverage on social and environmental issues, as well as allow homeless people to make income from Boundless.

This session, specifically for organisations whose grants are coming to an end due to the changes in the VCS Grants Prospectus.

It will offer training to organisations seeking to apply for prospectus funding and will also help organisations think about how to manage reductions in funding.

Please note that this session is restricted to organisations whose grant/s with Bristol City Council will end 31/3/17.

Arts Council England, supported by the Bristol Manifesto for Race Equality and Ujima, is running a free event providing you with the opportunity to: find out about a range of Arts Council grants; get tips on what makes a good application; book a ‘one to one’ surgery with an Arts Council advisor.

Bristol Women’s Voice presents a free day of activities, workshops, speakers and music to mark International Women’s Day at Bristol’s M Shed from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, March 12. The theme of the day is ‘Women Making A Difference’.
 
This is one day for women to come together and celebrate the many ways in which they make a difference in our lives, as well as the difference they make in our communities and further afield across the globe.

The TUC is running a project with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to look at recent research on ethnicity and poverty and need for a new narrative on race equality. The South West TUC is also keen to work with partners who are developing a Manifesto for Race Equality in Bristol.

Clinical Commissioning Groups value collaborating and working with the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. As relatively new health structures, such partnership working is still emerging and different for each Clinical Commissioning Group.

Voscur, in partnership with Compact Voice/NCVO and the West of England Civil Society Partnership, is working across the West of England to support Compact developments and partnerships.

Voscur is working with the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to host an information event for equalities groups and organisations.

HLF funds a wide range of projects from £3,000 and upwards, that actively involve people in heritage. This can include, amongst other things: cultural traditions; histories of people, communities, places or events; languages and dialects; people’s memories and experiences.
