A presentation on the new online patient service askmyGP can be heard at Healthwatch North Somerset’s public board meeting on July 9th in Weston-super-Mare.

Weston has seen the biggest roll-out of the new online booking system in the country, with nine surgeries either already using it, or planning to bring it in shortly.  Denys Rayner, ISS Support Manager, from clinical commissioning group BNSSG, will be giving a presentation on how the new service is taking shape in the area.

Jessica Eaton delivers this unique workshop based on up to date of psychological research and many years of front line practice, and will explore the ways in which women and girls are blamed for sexual violence - and the ways they blame themselves.

We will look at the prevalence of victim blaming of women and the findings from her new study which surveyed the general population about how much they would blame women for sexual violence committed against them.

Lunchtime seminar: collaborating beyond words with Katherine Broomfield, Speech and Language Therapist and Clinical Doctoral Fellow

Katherine previously led a local augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) service in Gloucestershire; part of the adult speech and language therapy team. AAC, or communication aids, are external devices that support people who cannot speak clearly enough to get their message across. In 2016, she secured funding from Health Education England (HEE) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to complete a Clinical Doctoral Fellowship.
