Does your organisation work in a community space or serve a particular neighbourhood in Bristol? The Communities of Place Network (CoP) is a great way to talk to others who work in similar ways, with the potential to learn from each other as well as amplifying your voice.

Does your organisation work in a community space or serve a particular neighbourhood in Bristol? The Communities of Place Network (CoP) is a great way to talk to others who work in similar ways, with the potential to learn from each other as well as amplifying your voice.

Additionally, in this upcoming session there will be the opportunity to take a tour of Windmill Hill City Farm – hear about their successes and challenges, with the chance to take some great learning back with you.

In our last session we hosted a speaker who shared information on funding opportunities for those working in community spaces, and being part of the network is a great way to keep up to date with various opportunities.

The network’s longer-term aims and ambitions are to:

  • Build and strengthen the collective voice of VCSE sector organisations working within defined geographic areas.
  • Form a collective and unified response to policies impacting this sector, building on the work of the Community Asset Transfer Manifesto.
  • Advocate for community organisations to be embedded in and at the forefront of place-based decision-making structures.
  • Peer Support, Capacity Building and Collaboration.
  • Facilitate mutual support and collaboration between member groups, including the sharing of knowledge, best practice, and resources.
  • Strengthen the capacity of community groups, ensuring that members are connected to advice, resources, and training opportunities.
