Join the authors of the SWCF Equity Report as they share their exploration of the barriers to access to urban farms for diverse communities

About this Event

In this evening session, the authors of the St Werburghs City Farm (SWCF) Equity Report, Manu Manganidze, Rhian Grant and Esme Worrell will share the processes and key learnings from this year long exploration into the barriers to access for ethnic minority communities at SWCF and urban farms in general.

The report and the recommendations shared within are intended to act as a blueprint for change that will positively influence SWCF’s spaces and services. The report acts as a catalyst for change, guiding SWCF to evolve into a more inclusive environment that is an asset to all of the diverse communities within walking distance of the site.

It is intended that in sharing our findings, the research can act similarly for other organisations. Through sharing SWCF’s actions moving forward, we hope to inspire and push forward an agenda of racial equity, inclusion and diversity across urban farms and related sectors.

The report and recommendations are available on our website: https://www.swcityfarm.co.uk/vision-and-plans/

Kari Halford and Jess Clynewood, co-Directors of the Farm, will share how they plan to implement these recommendations and share the progress.

Navaratnam Partheeban MRCVS, trustee at SWCF, will offer a closing statement and chair any questions from the audience.

This is an online zoom event, free to access . Please advise in advance if you require any accessibility adjustments to participate.

The Equity Project Was funded by Space to Connect - a partnership between The Co-op Foundation and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport
