We help people who are involuntarily addicted to prescribed psychotropic medication, mainly tranquillisers, sleeping pills and anti-depressants. We were set up in 1985 and become a registered charity in 1996. We run withdrawal groups and provide individual counselling . We run a helpline 4 days a week. BASF supports people affected by a stroke, including their carer or family members. We do this by visiting individuals at home, assessing their needs, providing information, signposting where necessary and providing support ourselves through home visits, counselling, weekly groups and short-term groups with specific aims such as Conversation or therapy groups.
