Could you organise activities to help your community understand the dangers of loan sharks? If so, the Stop Loan Sharks Community Fund can help you. The funding is held by the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT), taken from convicted loan sharks, and this fund is a chance to educate communities and prevent loan sharks taking hold in the future.

Voluntary and community groups, schools, charities, local residents and statutory agencies can all apply, and collaborative bids (from two or more organisations working together on a shared project) are encouraged. You can bid for up to £5,000 per organisation to help run your activities.

Your project must:

  • Raise awareness of the dangers of loan sharks.
  • Prevent crime and disorder whilst publicising the Stop Loan Sharks message.
  • Promote the work of the IMLT in communities.
  • Encourage people to report loan sharks.

Applications close at 12am (midnight) on 30 June 2021. For more details, click here
