Bedminster Green Community Hub Meeting

Date/Time:
Thursday, 5 December, 2019 - 06:30 to 09:00
Location:
Windmill Hill City Farm, Phillip Street, Bedminster, Bristol, BS3 4EA
Cost:
£ FREE
Organised/hosted by:
Windmill Hill City Farm

Join us for an informal evening to explore how the community might take control of space in the Bedminster Green development. We will forge ideas to make Bedminster Green a great place to live.

We want to:

  • Gather ideas and opinions on the evolving proposal for community-owned spaces across Bedminster Green.
  • Bring together stakeholders to sketch out the road map to implementing the ideas
  • Identify barriers, enabling mechanisms, key decision makers and a timeline for implementation.
  • Explore links to the wider city context eg One City Plan, Western Harbour development, local plan.

The meeting is part of a wider campaign to gather opinions and build momentum. By being part of it you can help to shape the proposal taken forward.

What to expect on the night

The opening session will set the scene giving some national and local context to the idea: why the farm is involved, why community ownership of high street spaces is useful, and what’s been going on in Bedminster.

It will be followed by six parallel table-discussions focusing on making Bedminster Green a great place to live, learn and work and one that encourages community cohesion, a place for wildlife and that regenerates the area economically. These will be led by key figures involved in the development.

We’ll wrap up with the city-wide context and next steps for the proposals.

Throughout the evening the bar will be open and snacks will be available.

Tickets are free and should be booked in advance.
