City Funds, an investment funding initiative for Bristol, will offer mixed funding and early-stage lending to a range of projects that tackle inequality in the city. The aim is to bring together investment, grant, and local authority support.

There are four priorities for investment:

1. No Child Goes Hungry - helping communities grow, prepare and cook fresh food that is healthy and affordable.

2. Economic inclusion - making the local economy more diverse, and including deprived areas of the city, helping to secure employment.

3. Community initiatives - empowering community anchor organisations, community housing, and upskilling projects.

4. Environmental transformation - making Bristol a greener and more sustainable city.

City Funds will invest between £50,000 to £1 million, depending on the experience of the team leading a project, and its potential. Grant and early-stage lending is also available.

Organisations involved in City Funds include Bristol City Council, Bristol and Bath Regional Capital (investment advisors), and Power to Change (grant funding); the Board of City Funds includes representatives from the local VCSE sector, such as universities, staff from the Mayor's Office, and Voscur.
