Twitter is an important social media platform for any voluntary organisation, community group or social enterprise.

You may not have used Twitter before, or maybe you have a personal account and you need to tackle tweeting for work purposes. It’s harder to use Twitter as an organisation than as an individual user – you want to make a good impression, grow your followers, and promote your cause.

Whether you’re new to Twitter or your organisation has a neglected account that needs reviving, this practical lunchtime briefing will help you find your feet and create professional content.

This course will cover:

  • Setting up and personalising your Twitter profile.
  • Writing a good tweet
  • Engaging with other accounts
  • Adding images and GIFs
  • Using hashtags effectively
  • Scheduling tweets to publish automatically
  • Dealing with twitter incidents and trolls

Who should attend: Anyone who needs help using Twitter more effectively – either as a new user, or to improve an existing Twitter account.

Please bring a smartphone, tablet or laptop to the session.

If you already have Twitter at work, please make sure you know the login details to use it during the session. If you don’t currently use Twitter in your organisation, you can use a personal Twitter account, set up a new account during the session, or join in with other attendees.

This course is being delivered by Polly Allen, Digital Marketing and Communications Officer at Voscur. She has eight years’ experience creating social media content for the VCSE sector, media, fashion, and travel brands.
