Inclusion through positive action

Creating a more equitable and inclusive society requires taking proactive, targeted action - not just 'getting out of the way and letting the market decide.' Such positive action underpins all Voscur's work to support and develop the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. We are also involved in a number of other initiatives addressing specific barriers to opportunity, and provide training and consultancy for organisations that want to improve their own inclusion and diversity practice.

Current projects and services include:

  • Community outreach: our dedicated staff engage underrepresented and under the radar groups to access development support and bring new voices and perspectives into planning and decision-making.
  • Sport England Tackling Inequalities Fund: grant funding targeted to organisations working with communities experiencing health inequalities.
  • Bristol Local Access Partnership: led by a board of frontline local enterprise, the partnership provides social enterprise and investment development focused on inclusion and sustainability for enterprises led by and serving communities experiencing inequalities.
  • Everyday Integration: a research and social action partnership with the University of Bristol and a range of community groups co-producing a framework and toolkit to connect citizen-led inclusion with policymaking.
