We are looking for a member to join our Saturday retail team. The retail aspect is a vital part of our co-operative's business, and Saturday is our busiest day! We’re looking for someone friendly, energetic and customer-focused, to work alongside a coordinating member of staff on the day.
The main responsibilities are to run the retail operations of BWRP : looking after customers and the wood and related products we sell, including how we display, market and source it; as well as working with other BWRP departments and volunteers in retail related matters.
The role is for 1 day a week (Saturday).
The annual salary is £5,125 per annum (£25,626 full time equivalent)
The hours of work are 9:45am-4:30pm on Saturdays
There is a probationary period of a minimum of 3 months from commencement of the role.
Once probation has been completed, the employee can become a Member of BWRP Co-operative.
Staff are entitled to 25 accrued days paid holiday, in addition to the usual public holidays.
Additional Notes:
Bristol Wood Recycling Project is a co-operatively owned and managed, not-for-profit social enterprise, founded in 2004. Staff are invited to become Co-op Members once they have completed their probationary period.
All staff collaborate in the week-to-week operational running of the project, working alongside our volunteers to achieve the operations necessary. Departments are self-organising with high degrees of autonomy, in accordance with the vision of the whole, and the processes in place to fulfil this.
We all work efficiently and flexibly, sometimes between departments, demonstrating abilities to adapt to the circumstances that arise; successful candidates should expect to do the same
Strategy for the Co-op is generated through membership meetings and Working Groups. Oversight is offered by Directors of the co-operative. Members of the co-operative have ultimate control of the business. Staff can become an Employee Member of the Co-op, dependent on passing probation.
Working for Bristol Wood Recycling Project is not your normal 'nine to five'. It carries greater responsibilities than most jobs, but also offers greater rewards. Joining our co-operative is participating in a growing global movement for social and environmental justice.
