We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Community Learning Manager to support the growth of our Adult Education funded community learning provision and outreach and engagement work in Twerton and our wider community learning provision in Radstock.
(This is a part time 0.6 role fixed term 24 month contract)
About the Role
Bath Spa University is committed to the growth of our inclusive community engagement work, which is rapidly expanding. As Community Learning Manager, you will work with the Inclusive Communities and Little Lost Robot team and hold responsibility for the Creative Twerton Art and Learning space. You will collaborate with the wider Inclusive Communities team and University, nurture existing networks and partnerships and grow new ones, supporting the integration of Inclusive communities provision, within the wider graduate support offer and cultural ecology of the city.
You will be the key holder and responsible for day-to-day leadership for Creative Twerton, supporting the freelance delivery team there, including running 1-1 supervision with all team members, supported by strategic leadership within BSU and Little Lost Robot directors. Acting as programme support for community learning in our other spaces including our Radstock arts space, you will provide lesson observations and some oversight of paperwork, including working with the Inclusive Communities manager to ready the space for Ofsted oversight.
You will also be responsible for developing our community learning curriculum, including 1-1 SEN support, and data capture, including enrolments which will be passed onto data capture team. In addition, you will manage day to day safeguarding and monitoring within the Creative Twerton space and act as key co-ordinator to host events and outreach workshops within the space.
About You
You will be a creative individual keen to take on a management role that supports the growth of our community learning and outreach work in Twerton and Radstock. You will have supervision experience of teaching, or similar leadership experience within the education, FE, social care or community sector. You will have proven staff management and supervisory skills, and be able to support best practice across teaching and learning. Key to this role is a strong understanding of the needs of the Twerton community, an empathetic and commonsense approach and a commitment to developing strong relationships across the community. In addition, you will need to be comfortable with the Ofsted requirements for FE settings.
