Voscur working with the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman

29 August, 2023

Recently the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman team, working in partnership with Voscur, engaged with the public as well as community leaders in Bristol as part of their roadshow. This outreach work enabled them to hear first-hand about issues facing local people and engage with communities that traditionally do not know about or use their service.

This partnership project between Voscur and the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman is part of our work focussed on supporting organisations and groups from communities that experience the greatest disadvantage.

Jon Pam, Outreach and Engagement Manager at PHSO, said:
“We saw real value in working with Voscur for our Roadshow in August 2023. Without them we would not have been able to have met such a diverse range of community leaders or heard about the ongoing systemic issues being faced by the people they represent.”

The two-day visit involved a visit to a local foodbank, community centres, GP surgeries, as well as engaging with young people living in Bristol.

Voscur’s Development Director Mark Hubbard said:
“We supported this roadtrip as we know that many communities and community organisations want to influence things that affect people’s lives. Communities that experience disadvantage can sometimes experience barriers to being heard – making positive changes more difficult to achieve. We’re very pleased that the Ombudsman and team are proactively listening to Bristol’s diverse community organisations – to support changes that enable people to be heard.”
