Do you want to help your organisation take positive climate action but can't find the time or resource to make a start? The University of Bristol can help.

Organisations across the city are looking for ways to reduce their carbon emissions and become more sustainable. The University of Bristol was the first UK University to declare a climate emergency and has been working to deliver a carbon neutral campus. It is also working across the city to support other organisations through Climate Action Bristol – an initiative that places a team of students into community groups and businesses to develop and implement organisational climate action plans. The students measure your organisation’s current carbon footprint then work with you to create an action plan to increase your future sustainability. The plan identifies how you can meaningfully contribute to climate action targets by reducing your organisational impact.

What are the benefits for local organisations?

  • You will demonstrate a commitment to climate action in support of the One City Climate Action Strategy

  • You'll create of a tailored Climate Action Plan to identify impacts and contributions for your organisation

  • You'll be able to deploy the student volunteers as a resource to deliver the research and implementation you don't have the time to undertake.

If you are interested and want further details, please contact Martin Wiles, Head of Sustainability at m.r.wiles@bristol.ac.uk
