Social Action grants

13 February, 2024

The Social Action Grant Programme is a fund from Bristol One City to support the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector. The aim is to support social action activities that achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

  • Build resilience around mental health and wellbeing
  • Increase social connections within and across communities
  • Build peer to peer activity and mutual support
  • Build community resilience

‘Social action‘ is about people coming together to help improve their lives and solve the problems that are important in their communities. It can empower communities, help people in need, and complement public services.

What can you apply for?

A grant should enable social action (as defined above) and achieve one or more of the above outcomes. So a grant could pay for:

  • Outreach work that increases social connections and helps residents and communities access support and advice.
  • Enabling accessible and inclusive indoor and/or outdoor activities that encourages people to come together.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be based and working in Bristol. You can apply for a grant if you are a:

  • constituted voluntary or community organisation
  • registered charity
  • not-for-profit company, including Community Interest Companies where most directors receive no payment from the company

The fund is open for applications now, and will close 5th March at 11am
