Join our growing team of dedicated and compassionate staff as we work to support individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness, through one-to-one work, outreach and community empowerment. You will join our existing Housing Rights Support Worker and our Outreach Worker to make a genuine impact on those in need.
Based in St Paul’s but with a lot of our work based in communities around the city, Caring in Bristol works hard to find creative, person-centred and trauma informed ways to support those faced with housing issues. In addition to our Prevention Services, we have recently opened an emergency night shelter for young people and have an established team of experienced youth support workers.
If you could provide invaluable individualised support to people exoeriencing housing insecurity, you could be part of Caring in Bristol’s ambition to bring lasting change to our city and beyond.
Your work will be focused on some of the most economically vulnerable and under resourced communities in the country. You will build on Early Doors’ existing work, as part of an experienced team who are well established in the target communities, to ensure we are reaching people who would not otherwise access housing advice and support but are at risk of losing their homes. You will be our second Housing Rights Support Worker, expanding an essential part of a project with scope to develop, grow and make genuine change in the lives of community members.
Your role will focus on supporting people experiencing housing or homelessness issues, through one-to-one and group work. You will work with clients, who may not yet reach the criteria for housing assistance from the council, and your role will be to identify ways to support them to avoid reaching crisis point.
This role will involve some early evening hours (Tuesday or Wednesday evenings, until 7:30pm at the latest, between 3 - 6 times a month) with time off in lieu/condensed hours available as a result.
For the full list of responsibilites, open the attached job description.
We expect you to meet most of these criteria. However, we don't expect you to meet every point and welcome applicants with transferrable skills and an ability to apply themselves in a new context. You are welcome to use examples from experiences gained through volunteering work or through personal experience.
To apply, fill in the attached application form referring to the job description.
