An individual that we support in one of our mental health residential homes in Filton is looking for someone to socialise with, play board games, chess and to do model building with. They are also interested in fishing.
Can you help?
We are looking for someone who is friendly, confident and who shares similar interests. Ideally you are someone who has a basic understanding of mental health, as due to the individual’s illness they can display delusional thinking. We can provide mental health training, and the staff will support you to understand their illness and to be confident supporting the individual. Ideally this would be a weekly or fortnightly volunteer role, however all our roles are flexible.
Travel expenses are covered for each volunteering shift. Activity expenses will be discussed prior to starting in the role.
For all our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and we will request two references. All volunteers can attend an in-person volunteer induction and we offer online training alongside this. You will be supported by both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff in the service too.
You can apply for this role several ways :
