Details of Role: 

Purpose: As a small charity we rely on the generosity of our supporters and the local community. Every penny raised really does make a difference to the services we provide. We are looking for motivated and friendly individuals to help us arrange and co-ordinate bucket collections on private sites including supermarkets.  

What will you be doing?

  • Identifying suitable sites for collections, including supermarkets or local events like football or rugby matches

  • Booking collection slots

  • Working with our volunteers or local groups such as Lions clubs to schedule enough volunteers to cover the collection time

  • Ensuring volunteers have everything they need on the day, including sealed buckets, card payment apps, letters of authority and identification

  • Counting and paying in money OR arranging for the buckets to be dropped off at one of our offices

  • Reporting back to the fundraising team

  • Undertaking any recommended training and following set procedures

What skills and experience are needed?

  • Organised, with good recordkeeping skills

  • Reliable and trustworthy

  • A team player who is proactive and selfmotivated

  • Experience with organising groups of people or eager to gain these skills

  • Induction and relevant training

  • Reasonable outof-pocket expenses

  • Supervision and support from the Fundraiser and Volunteer Coordinator

  • Additional training as appropriate

When and how often will you be needed?

This rewarding and flexible role can be carried out at times that suit you. You will probably need to donate an average of 7-10 hours of your time per month to build up and maintain your network of collection sites and volunteers.
