The role:

In an exciting new role for BDP, based within our Creative Communities team, you will be working to support CC’s communications goals to promote our work in line with our organisational objectives. This role will significantly improve our reach and impact.

In this post, you will assist the Creative Communities Coordinator in promoting the variety of creative groups and events that BDP runs. This will include producing graphics, posters, online content, and generating coverage of regular performances and events.

You will work to ensure BDP's online presence meets the needs of the people we support and promotes the work of BDP. You will produce, schedule and monitor content about Creative Communities on our various social media accounts, and our upcoming website. You will also be responsible for press liaison and maintaining relationships with our key stakeholders and funders.

You will also create content by attending our creative groups and performances. Your focus will be on making sure the content we put out adds value to our audiences, is accessible to a variety of audiences and brings new members to our groups.

This role would suit someone with good communication skills, a creative approach and experience of working in the arts, who wants to apply this to a role that will significantly impact the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our communications objectives by delivering work in line with our organisational goals.
  • Produce engaging, thought-provoking content that is appropriate and accessible for various audiences.
  • Raise the profile of our service and influence an increase in the number of people seeking support from Bristol's drug and alcohol treatment services.
  • Monitor, schedule, and publish content across all social media channels.
  • Liase with staff, service users & volunteers for comments or to find out more about a story.
  • Write engaging copy for a variety of audiences.
  • Create promotional materials for parts of our service.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating creativity, accuracy and accessibility when producing content.
  • A passion for the power of written and visual elements to create impactful content.
  • Strong design skills.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and producing graphic materials.
  • Experience of managing websites
  • A commitment to reducing harm caused by substance use to individuals, families and communities.
  • Experience of documenting arts projects.
