About DIASPORA!
DIASPORA! is an arts festival for Bristol and the South West, presented by the
Diverse Artists Network. Taking place this year for the very first time, 2-6 May
2024, the festival will platform and celebrate the wide variety of talent
reflected in the region’s underrepresented cultural communities.
Working with some of Bristol’s most iconic venues, DIASPORA! will showcase
many different art forms such as dance, theatre, visual arts, film, poetry,
exhibitions, music. We will also host events, talks, community workshops and
celebrations that highlight the amazing vibrancy of Bristol’s artists in the run
up to the festival.
What does diaspora mean?
A diaspora is a group of people who moved away from their original homeland
and made a new home somewhere else. Diasporas can span over many
generations and include the descendants of the people who first moved.
