The organisation has a number of key challenges and opportunities that we would like our Trustees to support, including:
- reviewing our HR procedures, contract review and implementing a job evaluation scheme
- supporting the development of 24 affordable homes across 2 different sites from tendering contractors through to housing delivery and working with a managing agent
- development of a new community centre including business development plan, sub-leasing parts of the building for income, designing new spaces to meet existing and new service delivery
- development of a new community plan and complementary organisation strategy
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
You share Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust's values and are invested in its mission to support residents to achieve positive change for themselves and their community, and you are interested in what we do.
You have the confidence not to dominate meetings with your opinions but neither do you shy away from sharing your views.
You are willing to make the time commitment to read and prepare for meetings and attend them.
You will be a good ambassador for Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust.
Prepared to undertake training and induction on the role and responsibility of a Trustee.
Read, prepare and attend Trustee meetings
Act in the best interests of the Charity
Contribute to Trustee meetings using your skills, experience and knowledge, ask questions and speak up when you aren't clear about something
Work with fellow Trustee board on decision making, strategy and performance monitoring including taking lead role in an area and working directly with staff and volunteers to report back to the Board.

Risk Management - HR - Communications and Marketing - Charity or Property Law - Events - Safeguarding - Community Led Housing - Construction - Lived experience of Lockleaze or similar community
