You will operate one of the PROPS minibuses (Charity supporting adults with learning disabilities) pick up and drop off routes, collecting PROPS Trainees from given locations and dropping them off at the Centre (7:30-9:30); collecting them from the Centre and dropping them back to the given points (15:00-17:00).
Monday to Friday with a maximum of 20 hours. We can be flexible on shifts should you want to work for less than 20 hours, just mornings, just afternoons or a mixture of both.
We may be able to offer support work to extend hours if required also.
• Support Trainees getting on and off the bus, including loading & unloading of wheelchairs.
• To always provide excellent person-centred services, with Trainee welfare at the heart of all we do.
• Deal with emergencies that may occur on occasions.
• Attend meetings as requested.
• Ensure Vehicles are kept clean and in good condition, including, but not restricting to:
• Keeping the vehicle clean and tidy inside and out.
• Regular visual inspection/checking of tyres, lights, oil, water, refuelling when needed.
• Ensuring that any additional work required is communicated immediately to the Transport Manager.
• Ensure that any Vehicle Defects have been recorded on vehicle defect sheets and reported to the Transport Manager.
• Adhere to all PROPS policies including safeguarding & health & safety guidelines for drivers.
• Adhere to all guidelines and rules relating to PROPS transport risk assessment.
• To liaise directly with parents/carers when necessary.
Applicant must have:
Full current UK driving licence and be over 21 years old for insurance purposes.
Held their full licence for 3 years minimum.
3.5t vehicle experience preferable.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
We will carry out an enhanced DBS check with all staff before work commences and request two references.
