Call for events: Get Creative Festival, May 2020

Get Creative Festival
10 February, 2020

Get Creative Festival, a UK-wide celebration of cultural activities in communities, returns from 9-17 May 2020, and a call for events has been announced.

Whether you're an arts organisation or a community group, you can plan a free or low-cost event for the public as part of this exciting week. Last year, nearly 1,700 events were organised for the festival.

Your proposed event must be something that people can participate in - for example, a dance class, a craft workshop, an open choir rehearsal, or an art session. It's a great way to promote your organisation and reach new people. Bristol Libraries have already added a range of events, such as Knit and Natter.

If you already have a planned event scheduled for 9-17 May that could fit in with the festival, you're welcome to submit this, too - just make sure you add it to the website and use the festival branding, such as the logo. We also encourage you to add your event to the Voscur calendar, for further promotion; free events are always free to list.

The Get Creative Festival has a range of resources available, including a poster template, logos, and a guide to planning your event, including making it accessible for everyone.

You will also need to complete an evaluation form after holding your event, so the festival can gather feedback and monitor the success of each event.
