Location:
Troopers Hill, St George, BS5 8BL
Cost:

Organised/hosted by:
Friends of Troopers Hill

We offer a friendly welcome, tools, gloves and guidance during a two hour nature conservation work party. Most of our work involves cutting back scrub that is threatening this important area of acid grassland and heathland. 80% of the UK's heathland has been lost since the 1800s due to changes in land use.

We sometimes do work to benefit humans, such as step repairs, but most of our work is aimed at providing good habitats for wildlife. 83 species of bee have been recorded on the site which seems to indicate that it is being managed well.

Booking is essential.
