Bristol and Bath Railway Path Saved..for now
A highly successful campaign by local residents has led to the shelving of the plans to run a bus rapid transit route down the Bristol and Bath Railway Path. Utilising a range of campaigning techniques including Facebook, online petitions, YouTube video's of local politicans leading their support and a mass cycle ride to celebrate the path - the campaign has safeguarded this vital community resource..for now.
Sustrans have also been involved in the campaign. They will be working with the West of England Partnership to find an alternate site for a bus rapid transit route in Bristol. They will also be looking at gaining 'listed' status for the cycle path to avoid any future threats to the path.
